The Wessex Institute recently hosted a visit, organised by Eastleigh Borough Council, for a business delegation from Goluchow in Poland, including the Mayor from that town, Mr Marek Zdunek, as part of their Business Network Programme. The delegation, which was headed by Councillor Peter Wall and Kathryn Rankin, Economic Development Manager at Eastleigh Borough Council, represented different professions from both Poland and our local area, from industry and academia.

After welcoming the delegation at Ashurst Lodge, a buffet lunch was provided, followed by a presentation on the activities carried out at the Lodge, particularly relating to the Wessex Institute and its associated companies, WIT Press and BEASY.

Following the formal presentation the delegates were shown around the main Lodge, which included a brief description of the industrial projects undertaken by the BEASY software company, covering both crack growth and cathodic protection. The campus consists of 14 acres in total with first class accommodation and sports facilities.

The visit was well received by the group and, as a result, some of the representatives expressed a wish to collaborate with the Institute.
