We are pleased to announce that on 28th April, we successfully concluded the first series of WIT Winter Webinars. This complimentary series of 5 online events ran from December 2020 to April 2021. The webinars each comprised four presentations selected from among the best papers submitted to WIT conferences in 2020, followed by a Q&A session which allowed interaction between the speakers and the participants. Each event was chaired by a member of the WIT Board of Directors and was dedicated to a different topic.

The objective of these free online events was to expand the dissemination of some of the best presentations given at our 2020 Conferences; to set up a new initiative that connects the Institute with academia and industry in the winter months; and, last but not least, to make clear WIT’s intention to overcome the difficulties that the COVID-19 pandemic has created in the diffusion of scientific work and in the communication between researchers.
We are pleased to say that the webinars have been a great success. Each one attracted a large number of participants from many countries. We are grateful to the speakers for their high-quality presentations and to the attendees for their comments, which made the lively Q&A sessions a valuable part of the events.
The Webinar recordings were made available to view on-demand via our website for a period of one month following the last of the series.
The success of the webinars has encouraged us towards planning to organize a new series after the completion of the 2021 WIT conference programme.
In that regard, we take this opportunity to encourage you to submit abstracts to our 2021 Conferences. The inclusion of WIT Transactions in Scopus and many other important indexing databases guarantees rapid and wide dissemination of the findings of your research.
